Insect proteins in poultry and pig feed are fully authorised in the European Union

The International Platform of Insects for Food and Feed (IPIFF) – the umbrella association of the European insect sector in EU’s capital, Brussels – welcomes today’s entry into force of the Commission Regulation (EU) 2021/1372[1], authorising the use of processed animal proteins derived from insects (insect PAPs) in poultry and pig feed.

Following this important milestone for the European insect sector, IPIFF will host a webinar entitled ‘EU authorisation of insect proteins in poultry and swine feed: Opportunities for more resilient and sustainable agri-food supply chains’. The event will take place on Zoom and will focus on the benefits of insect PAPs for European agri-food actors and consumers as well as on the expected positive effects of this authorisation on the development of the insect sector.
